Something Else

I read something earlier on my dash, and I just wanted to subtly reply to it, because I thought it would be best not to directly bring it up. Please don’t judge me.

Overthinking really ruins you. It makes you paranoid of things that never usually matter. It drives you insane, and nobody can ever see it because it’s happening inside your mind.

But really, there comes a time when you just stop caring. Not like, one of those cliche “I don’t care what anyone thinks about me” or “Fuck everyone” attitudes. I mean, it’s really a cliche now because so many people say it but don’t mean it.

It may hurt that no one cares about you, but in reality, no one really ever stays. Family’s there most of the time, but there are a lot of moments where you’ll find yourself pretty lonely, because there’s no one there by your side, and there’s not much you can do about it. Friends care, they really do, but we’re teenagers and quite frankly, we either don’t know what to do, or we’re just too lost or confused or lazy as fuck to get up and do something about it. That’s what really draws the line between a real friend who cares and a regular, every day friend. 

I guess what I’m trying to say is that being alone is inevitable, because there’s only one person who can truly understand you, and that’s obviously you. But don’t sweat it, being alone isn’t necessarily sitting in a corner all by yourself and reading a book, like you can be with your friends and be chilling, but still be alone. It’s just another way of saying that you’re different, and because you’re different, no one can completely match up to you and your mind. It’s actually really cool if you think about it. 

So don’t think of it as being lonely, think of it as you are your own person, and quite frankly, you are awesome for putting up with yourself and everyone else your whole life. Now, go congratulate yourself. And be happy. Because this isn’t it. You’ve got your whole life ahead of you. (Again, another cliche, I’m terribly sorry because I hate cliches).
